Would you ditch a dodgy boyfriend using Anna's salt trick?

Chiara Castagna has just reviewed Love for Beginners.

"Witty and lively. I've enjoyed reading this book from the first page to the last one. It gives a sparkling twist to the same old love story and everybody will end up cheering for Anna and, not least, trying to leave a boyfriend with her salt trick. Recommended!"

Chiara mentions the salt trick that Anna, the young protagonist of the novel, uses to ditch a nasty boyfriend. This method should only be used in desperate circumstances, when one is giving an especially loathsome boyfriend his just deserts. How does Anna employ salt in a break-up?  Read Love for Beginners to find out.
